ABSTRACT:
A simple, precise and accurate method has been described for the quantitative determination of Eslicarbazepine Acetate (ESL) and Carbamazepine (CBZ) in bulk and tablet dosage form. The method involves the formation of Q-absorbance equation at 254 nm isoabsorptive point. Linearity of response was obtained in the concentration range of 5 – 25 µg/ml for Eslicarbazepine Acetate (ESL) and Carbamazepine (CBZ). The method was successfully applied to the formulation and no interference was obtained due to excipients. The suitability of the method for quantitative determination was proven by validation, which was performed as per the ICH guidelines. To ascertain ESL and CBZ in dosage form, a UV-Spectroscopic method that has been verified. Method was accurate, precise and reproducible and found to be simple, sensitive and selective for the estimation of ESL and CBZ This approach can simultaneously and independently determine drug combination in multi-component formulation. The method's simplicity allows it to be used in labs without sophisticated, costly, and time-consuming analytical equipment, in contrast to a simple UV method.
