ABSTRACT:
Clinical research is a vital component of healthcare advancement, aiming to improve human health and well-being. Clinical trials, a key aspect of clinical research, evaluate the safety and efficacy of new interventions, treatments, and products. This overview provides an introduction to clinical research and clinical trials, highlighting their importance, types, and processes. We discuss the roles of key players, including sponsors, investigators, IRBs, and regulatory agencies, and outline the clinical trial process, from protocol development to results reporting. Additionally, we touch on the challenges and considerations involved in clinical research, such as ethical concerns, regulatory compliance, and data quality. By understanding clinical research and clinical trials, we can appreciate the complexities and importance of this endeavor, ultimately leading to improved healthcare outcomes and innovative treatments.
